Anthony Davis Spent Time Working on Shot Mechanics While Rehabbing From Injury

Los Angeles Lakers big man Anthony Davis has enough time to work on one particular issue as he is rehabbing from his injury. Davis has missed a lot of time due to his torn MCL. Initial predictions suggested that Davis will probably miss an entire month. His latest MRI came negative and he was allowed to have contact workout.

The big man was out a lot and this break gave him a chance to improve his skills. Several sources have revealed that Davis used his time off to work on his shot mechanics.

“Davis has used the rehabilitation to work on not only his knee but his shot mechanics as well, sources told ESPN,” wrote Dave McMenamin.

This is more than great news for all the fans out there. Davis has great stats and the Lakers offered him a contract extension. His MCL injury happened at the wrong time, but hey, Davis turned his problem into a good deal.

In the 2021-22 NBA season, Davis has seen action in just 27 games and hit just 17.9 percent of his shots from the 3-ppint line. The big man had to improve his performance to help the Lakers win more games.

In Davis’ absence from the field, the Lakers have lost nine of the 16 games they played. In one of his recent interviews, head coach Frank Vogel said the Lakers weren’t “that close” to having the big man on the court. AD took part in contact drills and shooting practice. There’s more. The Lakers upgraded him to questionable for Sunday’s match against Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat.

Lakers players are more than excited about his return. However, LeBron James wants him to be 100% healthy. “We’ll say health first then rhythm,” he said.

Davis gives the Lakers the much needed boost on both offense and defense. Vogel will add him to the gameplan once he is fully healthy and strong.

The Lakers have a bad record at this point but it’s too soon to make any prediction.
