Devin Asiasi Release Further Cements Patriots 2018-2019 Drafting Disaster

Robert Kraft wasn’t happy with the fact that his team didn’t win a title in the last few seasons. He wanted Bill Belichick to select good players. The New England Patriots have a tight cap space just because Belichick spent a lot of money last offseason. The team cut ties with Devin Asiasi on Tuesday and his release was another surprise for the Patriots fanbase.

The Patriots selected Asiasi in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He is just another released player from the recent draft.

As you have noticed, 21 of the 33 players left the team. Interestingly, some players didn’t even get a chance to see any action.

The Patriots have to overcome major obstacles to make things work in the upcoming season. They had a seven-game winning streak in 2021 but lost the wild-card game to the Buffalo Bills. They should know better than this.

Belichick coached against Josh McDaniels and the Las Vegas Raiders in the preseason finale, but the Patriots ended up losing the game. Mac Jones and his teammates were frustrated mostly because they had high expectations for the game. No one thought that they’d lose it. Hopefully, things will take a better turn for the Patriots this time. It’s a challenging season and fans are now focused on the biggest contributors on the 2022 roster.
