Aaron Rodgers Trade Could Have Major Impact On 2023 Patriots

The New England Patriots have a few issues related to their quarterback position. Mac Jones had some struggles last season, but Bill Belichick didn’t even mention a potential trade. Yes, the Patriots did try to shop their signal-caller, but they didn’t make any decisions regarding the No.1 quarterback. Enter Aaron Rodgers. The future Hall-of-Famer made headlines a few months ago. He played great football with the Green Bay Packers. However, things didn’t work really well. Rogers attracted the attention of many teams in the NFL and Patriots fans really wanted to see him put on a Patriots uniform.

Well, Rodgers joined the New York Jets.

Aaron Rodgers didn’t sign with the Patriots

Rodgers went all the way to the AFC East. He was a threat on the field and switching conferences elevates him to a completely different level. The Patriots will have to play against him twice in the season. They faced him once every four seasons, but they will have to play him twice a year from now on.

Belichick had to prepare his teams for the games against Rodgers. He went 2-2 with 57% completion rate, 6 touchdowns, and one interception. Belichick and his staffers have found a solution to Rodgers’ dominance which makes things a little difficult for him.

Rodgers and the Packers defeated the Patriots in 2022. His team celebrated a 27-24 win over Belichick’s squad. Signing with the Jets is a big move for Rodgers. New York got a valuable player and the former Super Bowl champion will sure make a difference. Rodgers is more dominant than Zach Wilson, Mike White, and Joe Flacco which puts New York at a higher position.

The Patriots finished the 2022 season with an 8-9 record. If Rodgers manages to lead his current team to a better result, the Patriots could fall to fourth in the division.

The Packers could also have more success than the Patriots in the 2023 NFL Draft. They may pick before their opponents, putting the Patriots in a rather unfortunate position. Let’s see how things roll in a few weeks.
