Leonard Fournette Bewails Key Play In Jaguars Patriots Title Game

The New England Patriots defeated many teams in the last two decades. Head coach Bill Belichick and Tom Brady led the team to six Super Bowls. The Patriots created a dynasty and yes, they also earned an army of enemies. Bitter players who can’t get over their own failure. Rivals who can’t get over the defeat. Leonard Fournette is one of them and he will always remember the headache Patriots players gave him in 2017.

Patriots beat Fournette and Co., he teamed up with TB12 to win a title

The veteran running back went on “Good Morning Football and shared some details of the 2017AFC championship battle between the Patriots and the Jaguars.

The Jaguars relied on Calais Campbell and Jalen Ramsey back then. Fournette was a rookie and Blake Bortles was leading the offense.

Jacksonville players did a good job in the first two quarters, giving the team a 14-3 lead. However, Brady wouldn’t let them win the game that easily. He and Danny Amendola led the Patriots to a win and made the Super Bowl.

One particular play could’ve easily destroy the Patriots’ plan to win. They ran a trick play in the fourth quarter of the game and mocked the Jaguars. Amendola caught a screen pass and launched it to Dion Lewis. He ran into open space, but Myles Jack grabbed it right away. Refs blew the play dead and ruled Jack down. The Jaguars lost the chance to pump their record. Did they have a chance to win this one?

“Myles Jack was not down,” Fournette explained. “That’s the famous quote we always say. It just brings back so many memories. I know for a fact if we won that game, that franchise team still would have been together. Who knows what would have happened, how many we could have won. But at the time, we had a lot of vets. … Never would have knew, man.”

The Patriots made the Super Bowl, but the Philadelphia Eagles got the best of the game. When it comes to Fournette, he won a Super Bowl with Brady and the Buccaneers. Yes, he did admit that Brady is the greatest quarterback of all time.
