Former Patriot Rips Bill Belichick While Supporting For Mac Jones

Former Patriot Asante Samuel didn’t have too many great words for New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. His comments are related to quarterback Mac Jones and the treatment he received from his head coach. Yes, Samuel believes that Jones should’ve been treated better.

We are not even surprised by this attitude. Samuel has done this before and it seems like he was triggered by a recent tweet. The former Patriots cornerback took notice of a tweet about Jones and his determination to teach doubters a lesson in the upcoming season. Jones really has to prove doubters wrong and play his best football.

“Let’s go Mac! He can actually do good if Bill stop doing stupid (expletive) thinking he got Tom,” Samuel tweeted.

The former Patriot took an expected shot at Belichick

This was a terrible shot at the Patriots head coach. Belichick is the best head coach in NFL history and has his way of doing things. This has helped him establish a strong career and win six titles with the Patriots. We all know that Belichick is tough sometimes and wants his players to give their best shot on the field. There are no days off and some guys have a hard time coping with the Patriot way.

Jones struggled in his second season with the Patriots. He was brilliant in his debut with the team, but things didn’t go the way he planned in 2022. Belichick even used Bailey Zappe to replace Jones. Zappe was a good replacement for injured Jones and fans started thinking that Zappe would be the starting quarterback for the team.

There were several reports about Belichick’s plans for the offseason. Many thought he’d find another quarterback and ditch Jones. Well, Belichick has yet to make such a move. Everything points to the fact that Jones will be the starting quarterback for the Patriots in 2023.

When it comes to Samuel, we can all agree that he likes to talk trash about Belichick. He did it when Belichick offered words of praise for Brady following the match between the Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. When reporters asked Belichick if he thinks that he would have the same success, the Patriots head coach said, “no”.

Samuel didn’t buy any of this. He even said that Belichick’s words should match his actions.
