Austin Reaves Says His Dad Texted Him After He Received Technical Foul Vs Warriors

The Los Angeles Lakers suffered a 125-129 loss to the Golden State Warriors. It was a close loss and the Lakers showed the world that they are ready to go after their trophy. The team made the Western Conference Finals last season and now they have a chance to make the big game. Something else caught everyone’s attention. Austin Reaves received a technical foul and his dad had to text him about it. It’s more about Reaves’ comments on the foul and his father’s text. It’s hilarious.

The talented Laker was called for a technical foul against Stephen Curry. He didn’t receive a technical foul for a similar situation early in the game. Let’s just say Reaves was a bit upset about it. He seemed upset during the game and the postgame press conference. The ref told him that there was a major difference between the two plays, adding that the Laker had fouled Curry with his hands.

“I just felt like there was a similar play in the first quarter when I pump faked and tried to step through towards the basket to shoot a little floater, but I talked to the ref about it, and he said it was two totally different plays,” Reaves said. “He said I fouled Steph with my hands — it wasn’t my jumping towards him.”

Reaves’ dad texted him after the foul and guess what… The Laker apologized.

“My dad texted me about that, and I apologized to the ref,” Reaves said. “So, my bad.”

Reaves will help the Lakers beat the Warriors later in the season

Reaves was great in the game and finished the night with 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field. He also delivered three rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

The Lakers will soon enter another challenging season and players will may their normal minutes. Darvin Ham didn’t put a huge load on Reaves as he was busy with Team USA. Now is the time to resume his game and play his full minutes with the Lakers. It’s showtime!
