LeBron James Gets Honest About Lakers’ Offense After Preseason Opener

The Los Angeles Lakers had great success in the preseason game against the Brooklyn Nets. They celebrated a 129-126 win over the Nets and this is just a small warning for the rest of the NBA. LeBron James talked to the media after the game and shared his thoughts on the Lakers offense and other aspects of the game.

“It’s a lot of good things that came out of the game,” LeBron said on October 9. “We have better shooting this year. … When teams go under our pick-&-rolls, or teams disrespect us from the perimeter, we have enough shooting that we believe we can go up there and knock them down with confidence and with a high clip.”

LeBron will lead the Lakers offense to a win

The Lakers look good this season and everyone has high expectations from the current Lakers team. LeBron is an optimist and this is just the beginning.

King James and Anthony Davis went 2-for-6 from beyond the arc. Yes, this is just the beginning.

“It’s still a work in progress,” LeBron said. “It’s just one game.”

Davis admitted that they tried to do more threes and this was sort of a priority for the franchise.

“We talked about getting more threes up,” the big man said. “Obviously, there’s been a point of emphasis with the way the league has shifted to a lot of threes. … We just want to be confident in our shots and let them fly.”

According to Basketball Reference, the Lakers ranked 26th in three-point attempt rate. They also finished 24th in three-point efficacy.

The Lakers will follow a pattern and everyone will get a chance to contribute to the game.

“We have the ability with our team now to, whoever rebounds the ball can bring the ball up and start our offense,” LeBron added. “Everyone has that freedom, everyone has that ball-handling ability to do that, to start our offense. … That gets guys getting out on the floor and running.”

The franchise made some roster changes in the offseason and re-signed some of their players. They also brought a few new players. Let’s see how the new Lakers team handles the pressure later in the season.
