Bill Belichick Interested In Landing Chargers Job If Let Go By Patriots?

The New England Patriots lost the game to Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs, sparking another rumor about their head coach. Bill Belichick has been rumored to leave the organization after the end of the regular season and the Los Angeles Chargers could be his next destination.

Belichick may not be responsible for the chaos in New England, but it seems like he could be the first to go. Mac Jones could be the next in line. The Alabama quarterback struggled to make an impact in the last two seasons and doesn’t look like the ideal replacement for Tom Brady. In other words, Jones is far from ideal.

Belichick is the best head coach in league history. He will enter history as the best to ever coach a NFL team. Doubters may criticize his style, but Belichick’s coaching style has always been impressive. He is a true idol for all coaches out there and yes, no one can match him. However, rumors are louder than ever and Belichick is expected to go somewhere else.

Belichick would be a good fit for the Chargers

Patriots team owner Robert Kraft has yet to make a statement on Belichick’s future with the team. Jeremy Fowler from ESPN discussed his chance to join the Chargers.

“I’ve also heard that the Chargers could be a place Bill Belichick might want to go if the Patriots do in fact move on from him. That’d be a shorter-term play for the Chargers, of course, but they’re always trying to find ways to goose fan interest out there, so I’m not ruling it out.”

Los Angeles parted ways with head coach Brandon Staley following the 63-21 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. The Chargers could work on their defense and this makes Belichick a desirable option for the team.

Belichick has built strong defenses over the years and he’s been a head coach since 2000. Could he retire after the 2023 season?
