Bill Belichick Refused To Talk About SpyGate In Patriots Documentary

“Spygate” caused a big mess two decades ago, but head coach Bill Belichick is not really excited when it comes to going back in the past. The scandal affected pretty much every member of the New England Patriots. Fans still remember every bit of it. However, Belichick decided not to talk about it during Apple TV’s documentary series, “The Dynasty: New England Patriots.” It’s a great documentary focused on the Patriots dynasty and all the success Belichick and Tom Brady had together.

The documentary includes all the great moments from the past. The most recent episode covers Spygate. It was awful and the entire NFL world went against the Patriots organization. Almost everyone criticized the Patriots. The scandal drew Congressional attention and the team was fined. Belichick was “honored” with a $500,000 fine. Let’s just say it is not a great memory from his time with the Patriots.

According to Fox News, the former Patriots head coach brushed aside questions about Spygate.

“Yeah, again, that’s all in the past,” Belichick said. “I’ve made my comments on that. I don’t have anything to add.”

Unlike Belichick, former Patriots players talked about Spygate

Belichick didn’t want to talk, but former Patriots players sparked a debate. Some of them said the scandal infuriated the head coach and he pushed players even harder that season.

Former Patriots safety Rodney Harrison noted that Patriots used to take their anger out on their opponents. He said their goal was to “blow everybody out the water.”

Wide receiver Donte Stallworth said that players took it personal. Well, yes, we could see it later in the season.

Tedy Bruschi added that Spygate made Belichick “relentless.” Offensive players went crazy and each and every player on the Patriots roster became the bad guy.

Spygate is a tiny black dot on Belichick’s resume, but he doesn’t pay much attention to it. He is the best head coach in league history and that’s the only thing that matters.
