DeMarcus Cousins Names Lakers Star Hardest Player To Guard In Entire Career

DeMarcus Cousins isn’t really happy when it comes to guarding Los Angeles Lakers big man Anthony Davis. Moreover, he claims that AD was the hardest player to guard in his NBA career. Cousins put an end to his comeback and he sure made some core memories during his time on the NBA court.

“I came in the era where, when I entered, it was still two bigs in the post type, you know? So, like I said, I’m right on the cusp of the old-school ball to the new-school ball. I’ve kind of seen both sides of it, and man, there are so many talented guys,” Cousins told Hoopshype’s Cyro Asseo de Choch on February 23.

“I mean, there are more guys that don’t even get the recognition. Now, [Al] Jefferson, Chris Kaman, and Marc Gasol, players of that nature, didn’t have the opportunity to play against guys like Zion [Williamson] and things like that. But I would say, for me, Anthony Davis has always been a guy that I’ve been a huge fan of, you know, his younger days in New Orleans, and we had a lot of battles.

“Anthony Davis is a guy that doesn’t always get respect from [the] media.

Lakers big man Davis gave Cousins hard time on the floor

We couldn’t agree more. When healthy, Davis is one of the better players in the NBA. LeBron James wanted him on the team and signing Davis was one of the better moves LA made over the last few years.

The Lakers big man averages 25.0 points, 12.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.1 steals, and 2.4 blocks this season. Davis has been relatively healthy and fans are not really worried about his condition. However, it wasn’t always like this. AD and LeBron James missed a lot of games in the last few seasons. Their injury history played a big role in the Lakers’ bid to win a title.

Davis is having an excellent season with the Lakers. Let’s see how things go in the final portion of his schedule.
