Lakers’ Big Man Anthony Davis Sounds Off On LeBron James’ 40K Milestone: ‘Might Have To Stop’

LeBron James hits a milestone every time he hits the basketball court. According to Anthony Davis, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar should stop chasing milestones and the reasoning behind this is hilarious.

“I was just telling him in the locker room he might have to stop breaking records because we always lose any time he breaks a record,” AD told the media following a Lakers’ 124-114 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Saturday, March 2, at Crypto.com Arena. “And he said the same thing.”

LeBron was proud of himself after making another milestone

It’s not like LeBron chases milestones. It happens naturally. He hit his 40,000-point mark with 10:39 left in the second quarter of the game. So, LeBron hit his milestone early in the game. Let’s just say it wasn’t of great help. The four-time NBA champion couldn’t help the Lakers beat Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets. Moreover, LeBron thinks Jokis is one of the “unanswerable” players in the NBA.

“Being the first player to do something, it’s pretty cool in this league, just knowing the history, the greats that’s come through the league and then you see some of the greats on the floor tonight, it was great to compete,” LeBron said via NBA.com. “But for me, the main thing, as always, is to win, and I hated that it had to happen in a defeat.”

The Lakers seem to have a hard time beating the Nuggets. They met them in the Western Conference Finals last season and it didn’t go well.

What’s next on LeBron’s list? He passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on the all-time scoring list. Now he made the 40,000-point mark. Let’s not forget that the Lakers also lost the game to the Oklahoma City Thunder despite LeBron making his milestone.

LeBron had great plans for his NBA career and accomplished most of them. He doesn’t even think of retiring at this point. However, fans do want to know more about his future plans. The king of basketball is pretty quiet in that aspect.
