Patriots Expected To Add 2-Time Champion Who ‘Wowed’ At Combine

The New England Patriots have a really busy offseason as they have to fill huge holes on their roster. They have a new coaching staff and a relatively new squad. The team has been linked to several players in the last few weeks. According to analysts, the Patriots have shown great interest in a two-time champion.

The Patriots need strong quarterbacks and receivers. Getting a star WR is definitely a priority right now. One of the potential scenarios suggests that New England will probably select a receiver in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The 33rd team predicts a selection of Georgia’s Ladd McConkey. New England can use the second-round pick to get the 6-foot player.

Patriots could benefit from the two-time champion

McConkey was brilliant in his three seasons at Georgia. The Bulldogs won two straight national titles and McConkey played a big role in this success. In the 2022 national championship against TCU, McConkey had the best game in his career. He caught two touchdowns and helped his team celebrate a big win.

His ankle injury may be an issue, but NFL teams have already showed great interest.

If pass rushers have rush plans, McConkey has route plans that allow him to uncover on all three levels. His pace and rhythm make cornerbacks more reactive than proactive,” NFL.com wrote in the scouting report. “He has the footwork and body control to snap off crisp breaks and open windows for his quarterback. He can manipulate coverage with an advanced feel for leverage and has enough top-end speed to get past cornerbacks who are non-believers.”

McConkey was turning heads at the NFL Combine and will definitely secure a spot on a good team this offseason.

USA Today’s Draft Wire noted that McConkey “wowed in Indianapolis with a 4.39 official 40-yard dash time that tied for the sixth-best time among all receiver prospects, bringing attention to his breakaway speed.”

The talented player sure looks like someone who can fit in the Patriots roster.
