Report: Warrior Players Reveal Their Decision On Recruiting Durant To Stay

The Golden State Warriors entered the season as absolute favorites, and NBA fans believe they have great chances of winning another title. But, things changed a lot within a couple of days. Marcus Thompson of The Athletic confirmed that several members of the Warriors locker room are not interested in recruiting Kevin Durant to stay for another year.

“Durant’s teammates have made it clear privately they aren’t on board for another Please-Stay-KD tour. And Durant has said he doesn’t want to be recruited. But the decision to suspend Green publicly seems to be a signal from management that they do care about recruiting Durant.”

The report came after the events of the last two days. It all started during Monday’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Draymond Green refused to pass the ball to Durant in the last seconds of the regulation, and the whole thing ended up with a failed shot. Durant and Green got into a verbal altercation the other day, and things got all messed up in the locker room. According to sources, Green called Durant a “B****.”

Green criticized Durant, and the team decided to suspend him without pay for the game against the Atlanta Hawks. After Tuesday’s victory, Durant talked to media members, and said he has not reached for Green about the situation. However, he does believe that they will have to talk at some point during the season.

This does not come as a surprise, because everyone is convinced that Durant will decide to opt out of his contract with the Warriors after the season. He re-signed with the team during the offseason, but can leave the team after the season.

“Management is holding fast to its stance that Green crossed a line that can’t be crossed. Some say it’s just ‘Draymond being Draymond.’ At least two said he did go too far, attacking his teammate personally. One player was even concerned that Green may have lost his authority in the locker room, the berating was so over-the-top.”
