Jimmy Garoppolo Mum On Advice Tom Brady Gave Him About ACL Injury

Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a torn ACL in Week 3 last season. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady suffered a similar injury during the first game in the 2008 season against the same team. So, Brady decided to give Garoppolo an advice.

Garoppolo had some really great time at the 2019 Kentucky Derby, and he joined Brady’s crew. When asked about the advice Brady gave him about his injury, Garoppolo didn’t say much.

“I’ve got to keep that confidential,” he said. “But I did actually talk to him about it for a bit. He’s been through everything, seen everything, so whenever I can pick his brain that’s a good thing.

“It’s a combination of reactionary stuff. That’s a big part of it. When you’re doing rehab, everything is, ‘Do this movement, do this.’ Well, in this game you’re more reacting than thinking. Getting used to those type of movements. We’ve been doing some of them and patterning them. It’s coming along well.”

Brady on the other hand, was really honest about his text.

Yeah, I did text him,” the GOAT said at the time. “I just told him he will be back better than ever. It is a tough injury. I have been through it. I have seen obviously so many teammates over the years go through that injury. It is very prevalent in football for one reason or another and it is a tough injury. It is a tough rehab. But he’s a tough guy. They are pretty good at that surgery these days, so he will be back soon and he will be back ready for next year I’m sure.”

Garoppolo didn’t deny their good relationship. They may not play on the same team, but they are definitely talking to each other really often.

We always had a good relationship,” the San Francisco 49ers quarterback said. “Initially when I was younger, kind of like an older brother type of relationship, but as I got older and matured through the NFL, we became closer and we became good friends. You know, we still text here and there. Jacoby was a good friend of mine, too.

“So, the three of us always were texting each other. Everyone said it was a terrible decision to have the same agent, but I think it worked out very well. Our agents look out for both of us, both of our best interest. But at the end of the day it’s the NFL. It’s a business.”
