Steve Kerr Reveals Kevin Durant’s Status For Game 5

There’s a huge chance that the Golden State Warriors lose their last chance to win the championship. They can’t brag about the 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals, and the team is plagued with injuries. Kevin Durant has missed several games, and we can’t really say if he will suit up for Game 5.

However, head coach Steve Kerr talked about Durant’s status for the upcoming match.

“He’s going to practice with us today,” head coach Kerr. “He’ll get some extra work in with some of our younger players, and we’ll gauge it from there.”

Is Kerr optimistic about Durant’s condition?

“Yeah,” he said. “Because he hasn’t done what he’s going to do today. He’s doing more today, and we’ll know more after that.”

According to Kerr, Durant may join his team in the series after one practice. Yes, he is that great.

“It’s feasible,” Kerr said. “But again, it’s really a day-to-day thing. If we had a crystal ball, we would have known a long time ago what we were dealing with. It’s just an injury; there’s been a lot of gray area. So literally it’s just day to day and how the progress is coming. And at this point he’s still not ready.”

Durant will be of great help for the team, and the Golden State needs all the help at the moment.

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst believes that he will play in Game 5.

“Here’s what I do know,” he reported. “Durant just isn’t ready. His body’s not ready. The trainers don’t believe it, he doesn’t believe it, he tried to do some stuff in practice yesterday, it didn’t work. There was frustration all around, I’m sure from Kevin about it. Steve Kerr was really clipped about it. He basically said today, ‘I’m not gonna give you any updates about Durant. I’m just gonna tell you whether he’s playing or not.’ He’s frustrated about it too.”

Sam Amick agrees on this one.

“That being said, there is some legitimate optimism among the Warriors that Durant could play in Game 5,” he added. “And they are adamant about the process here: It’s trainer Rick Celebrini who will make the call.”
