Lakers Plan To Contact League About The Way LeBron Is Being Officiated

The Los Angeles Lakers were trailing the Memphis Grizzlies, and then jumped to defeat their opponents with a 109-108 record. At the moment, LeBron James’ team is the best team in the league with a 14-2 record. This is the best start for a LeBron-led team – besting the Cleveland Cavaliers of 2016-17 and 2008-09, along with the 2013-14 Heat, all of which started the season 13-3.

The Lakers are on a different mission this season. They could have given up on the match against Memphis, but they haven’t done that so far. Players go out to prove something every game. This is the fifth time the team has rallied from a double-digit deficit to win. Los Angeles is a league-best 7-1 in clutch games, which means the contest was within five points inside the final five minutes.

LeBron is not a quitter, and he doesn’t quit when his team is down. Los Angeles finished perfectly.

King James is the reason for this success. This is another MVP season for LeBron. He and Anthony Davis took over down the stretch. The king finished with 30 points, six rebounds and five assists. However, we are worried about the zero free throw attempts.

LeBron attacks the rim as hard as any other player in the league and has an advantage on his defender, but he goes an entire game without a single shooting whistle? Why? LeBron and his head coach would gladly ask a few questions on the matter. Frank Vogel is worried about this.

Vogel will talk to the league

“It’s frustrating,” Lakers coach Frank Vogel told reporters. “LeBron’s going to the basket all night long. He took nine 3s, but he’s in the paint all night long. … When your guy’s attacking the basket the way he is and getting zero free throw attempts, it’s something that can be frustrating.”

The 27 shots are the most King James has ever taken in a match without attempting a free throw as confirmed by ESPN Stats and Information. The King got really upset with the no-calls throughout the game, and talked to officials in several occasions throughout the match.

I’m living in the paint, and if you look at my arm right here, these are four or five [scratches] that happened the last two games, and they weren’t called at all,” LeBron said. “It’s been a theme for me, personally. Pretty much in my career and over the last few years.”

Vogel plans to talk to the league about this, and hopefully, he will get an expected reaction. The Lakers will discuss the way their star player is officiated with the league, and they have every right to do that. LeBron won’t tolerate this, and his team needs to do the talking.
