Josh Gordon Suspended Indefinitely By The NFL

The National Football League decided to suspend Josh Gordon indefinitely. Gordon will end the regular season placed on the league’s suspension list. The information was confirmed in an official announcement. The 28-year-old receiver is suspended for violating the NFL’s policies on performance-enhancing substances and substances of abuse.

The Patriots signed Gordon through a trade deal with the Cleveland Browns last season. His incredible talent was of great help for the Patriots. However, his history of substance abuse did its thing. Gordon missed two seasons because of suspension and only played in 10 total games after leading the NFL 2013 with 1,646 receiving yards. During his time with the Patriots, Gordon was incredible. He adapted to the team and contributed to their game. However, the NFL suspended him in December and ended his first season with the Patriots. Gordon was added to the Patriots roster in mid-August this season, but couldn’t match the success he had with the team in 2018.

The Patriots decided to cut Gordon in October. The receiver was first placed on injured reserve, and later released from the list and subjected to waivers. The Seattle Seahawks were the only team to put in a claim, so former Patriot ended up playing with them. Gordon appeared in five games for the team and caught seven passes for 139 yards. The NFL suspended him again earlier today.

The suspension has an on-field impact and will be analyzed in the Patriots organization with the backdrop of their decision to waive him two months ago. The most important thing is that the receiver finds the help that he needs and that he will successfully win the fight against the demons that have destroyed his career.

Let’s see what happens with Gordon at the moment. He may not return to the NFL any time now. Even if he returns, we don’t really believe that any team will be interested in his talent. Gordon is plagued with a lot of problems, and he really messed things up this time. He is really talented, but that talent won’t be enough for him to return to the league.
