Jared Dudley Gives His Take on When 2020-21 NBA Season Will Start

The Los Angeles Lakers won their title a few weeks ago, and players are already planning the beginning of the upcoming season. There have been too many theories and predictions, and Lakers veteran forward Jared Dudley shared his thoughts. According to many analysts, the 2020-21 NBA season will start in December. Is this acceptable for the Lakers veteran?

The exact start date is Dec. 22, and many NBA players have spoken their minds lately. The NBA seems to be ready to approve this date. Dudley is convinced that the upcoming season will definitely begin before Christmas Day.

“We’ll most likely be on the 22nd,” Dudley said. “For the Lakers, it’s a quick turnaround, but a good thing. Everyone besides me and LeBron [James] are young, relatively young. A.D. (Anthony Davis) and [Kyle] Kuzma and guys. Hopefully, we’re there ring night. Obviously, Christmas, Lakers and how big our fan base is they want to see the Lakers at that time, but it is something we are really going to have to watch the whole team’s bodies and injury prevention. It’s a marathon and we’ve got to be smart about that early on especially.”

LeBron James jokes on the 2020-21 NBA season start

LeBron James and other players don’t really like the proposed Dec. 22 start date. The four-time NBA champion even joked that he would be cherry-picking during games for the first half of the regular season if it started before Christmas Day.

Yes, LeBron was joking. Some say his joke was actually the truth. Is LeBron ready to start off the regular season that soon? The comments some players actually got everyone confused. The 2019-20 season ended a month ago, and it’s strange to see the NBA announce the start of the upcoming season that soon.  Players need their time to rest and relax. They have to win games, remember?

On the other hand, the coronavirus pandemic has affected every aspect of our lives. Players missed four months and had to play inside a bubble. How will things develop in 2021? The coronavirus situation is a lot worse than before.
