Tom Brady Reveals 1 Key Reason Why He Left The Patriots

Tom Brady left the New England Patriots to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He had his reasons to do so and people still speculate about their infamous breakup. Why did Brady part ways with the Patriots?

Brady will share some details in “The Dynasty” docuseries. The greatest quarterback of all time and head coach Bill Belichick built a dynasty and won six titles together.

“Me and coach Belichick, we did what we loved and competed for 20 years together. But I wasn’t going to sign another contract [in New England] even if I wanted to play until [I was] 50. Based on how things had gone, I wasn’t going to sign up for more of it,” Brady says in the documentary via Chad Graff’s article in The Athletic on Wednesday.

Brady left the Patriots for a reason, speculations are stronger than ever

Brady moved on from the Patriots after a disappointing 2019 season. Tampa Bay was an attractive destination for the GOAT and he even managed to get Rob Gronkowski out of his retirement. Why did he go to the Buccaneers? Well, they had an excellent offense and their defense was fire.

New England struggled to make the playoffs following Brady’s departure. Belichick struggled to find a dominant quarterback and New England was desperately trying to find another Gronk. They also needed another Julian Edelman.

Patriots owner Robert Kraft didn’t made a huge appearance in the documentary, but he did drop a hint. According to his comments, he and Brady had multiple discussions about his relationship with the head coach.

“Tommy is very sensitive. He was always looking for Bill’s approval, almost in a father-son kind of way. And that’s not Bill’s style ever to give that,” Kraft added.

Tom Brady Sr. dropped similar comments in his interview with the Boston Globe. He noted that Belichick “runs a military system.” We all know what this means.

Belichick left the Patriots as well. He has yet to land a coaching job. When it comes to Brady, he will hit the broadcast booth with FOX this year. Brady can’t really understand the fact that the best coach in NFL history doesn’t coach any NFL team at the moment. We have a good feeling that Belichick has a backup plan for his career.
